Global rules

Global rules can be created, and existing global rules can be edited in preparation for rule sets.

Global rules are rules that evaluate the big picture and override the local rules where needed based on contractual restrictions. Global rules are based on data of all users and applied to consolidated results of local rules. Global rules have either an absolute effect on these results by entering an upper license threshold or a relative effect by entering a maximum percentage. These values are usually part of a contract in terms of proportional license type distribution.

note

Only activated global rules can be used in a rule set.

The activation concept defines the process of saving and activating objects that is used in the final stage to check for errors and mark the created object as ready for use. Creating and saving objects without activation can be used when work is still in progress.
