Rule sets

Rule sets can be created, and existing rule sets can be edited in preparation for rule set executions. A rule set can be applied to any system or system group.

Rule sets are based on defined local rules, global rules, an aggregation scheme, and a license type hierarchy. Rule sets are used to optimize user master data relevant for licensing.

note

The order of listing local and global rules is to be considered since rules are executed from the top down.

note

Only activated rule sets can be used for a rule set execution.

The activation concept defines the process of saving and activating objects that is used in the final stage to check for errors and mark the created object as ready for use. Creating and saving objects without activation can be used when work is still in progress.

note

A template for a rule set exists and shows how a rule set can look like.
