User aggregation

Access through: Cross-functional objects > User aggregation

User aggregation is among the cross-functional objects in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software. A user aggregation consolidates users to recommend the optimal license type for users based on the aggregation result.

Description

For the user aggregation in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software, you can define aggregation schemes that contain aggregation lists and aggregation rules. In this way, you can identify duplicate or inactive user IDs to make sure that a user is only considered once for licensing.

Aggregation lists

An aggregation list defines the users that an aggregation scheme checks. The aggregation list summarizes the user IDs of the same user across different data sources. You can normalize aggregation lists, check the existence of the data sources, and merge an aggregation list with another aggregation list.

Aggregation rules

An aggregation rule defines the user master data fields that an aggregation scheme checks.

When you execute an aggregation rule, user master data fields optionally can be transformed using a regular expression or a method.

Aggregation schemes

An aggregation scheme aggregates users by using the definitions within aggregation rules and aggregation lists. You need to select an aggregation scheme before you execute most reports and rule sets because otherwise, Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software cannot merge and recommend license types.

When you select an aggregation scheme, aggregation rules and aggregation lists in the aggregation scheme are executed in the order of listing. As soon as an aggregation rule or aggregation list results in the aggregation of a user, the following rules and lists are not executed.
