Data source administration

In data source administration, data sources are defined to load and manage system data of connected systems. Basic settings specify if data is loaded from data sources and if data on data sources is considered in reports.

On a Supermaster system, Submaster systems can be connected in the data source administration via Master Synchronization Points.

Once ABAP system data has been loaded successfully, the naming of the data source changes from 'TMP_<X>' to the pattern 'SYSID/Client/Installation number'. Once other system data has been loaded successfully, the naming of the data source changes from 'TMP_<X>' to the pattern 'SYSID/Installation number'.

The connection status of data sources can be displayed by different icons.

Note: Troubleshooting for ABAP, Java-UME, and BusinessObjects data sources
User in RFC connection is not maintained, or password is incorrect or missing. It is recommended to check the used RFC connection by executing transaction SM59.

Note: Troubleshooting for HANA data sources
User in database connection is not maintained or password is incorrect or missing. It is recommended to check the used database connection in transaction DBACOCKPIT or by using the report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION.
