The User – Evaluation authorization objects report is a part of the S/4HANA Trusted Authorization Review (STAR) feature in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software. It shows a simulation of the S/4HANA license requirements based on users.

Description​

This report compares the current ECC users based on their assigned authorizations to an authorization object classification on the selected data sources. This allows you to find the required S/4HANA license types. After executing the report, you can save and export the report results.

We strongly recommend that you carefully review the S/4HANA license types suggested by the report result.

Selection criteria​

In addition to the standard selections, the selection screen of the report has the following selections:

Classification

You can select the authorization object classification.

Options

  • You can select Use default license type if you want to include the system-specific default license type according to USMM in the evaluation.

  • Select Ignore engines if you do not want to evaluate possible engine use.

Description

You can enter a description for the report results.

You can execute this report in the background.

Result​

The report result shows the number of users per system with the current license type and the target license type based on their authorizations. It also shows how many users of a certain target license type are authorized for engines. The users who are not assigned to any target license type and who are not authorized for any engines are shown in the Unclassified column.

Functions available in the report result:

  • Select Save.png to save the report results in Results – Evaluation authorization objects.

    tip

    If not already done, enter a description to easily identify the report result.

  • To show the consolidated view by license type, select Consolidated view. To return to the unconsolidated view, select Unconsolidated view.

  • Select Export for SAP STAR Service to export the report results to a file with encrypted user IDs and blank user names.

    note

    • A single export file is created for each analyzed system.

    • You can optionally encrypt the output files with a password.

  • Select a number in the report result to show a User list for the current license type and the target license type. The Ratio column shows how many of the assigned roles match the target license type.

    • In the User list, select a user ID to show a Role list with all roles and profiles assigned to the selected user. The Ratio column shows how many of the assigned objects match the target license type.

      • In the Role list, select a role or profile to show an Object list with all objects assigned to the selected role or profile.
