Manage local rules

Access through: Rules > Definitions > Local rules

In preparation for defining rule sets, you can create local rules in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software. To define the effect of a local rule in a rule set execution, you can add conditions and actions to the local rule.

tip

To make it easier for you to create local rules, you can look at examples or use the templates in Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.

Create local rule

  1. Select New.png.

  2. Enter a name and description.

  3. To add a condition, select Add.png.

Select the condition type and select Accept.png.

    note

Activated checkboxes indicate for which system types a condition type is valid.

  4. Depending on the selected condition type, you have to enter more information.

To copy data from a condition in another local rule, select btn_transfer_data.png.

Enter a description and select the option for direct entry or entry in the selection screen.

    note

If you select the option for entry in the selection screen, you have to enter the condition values during the rule set execution. In this case, you cannot schedule the rule set since a runtime parameter is needed and you must run the rule set always manually.

To apply changes, select SAP navigation back.png.

  5. To add an action, select Add.png.

Select the action type and select Accept.png.

    note

Activated checkboxes indicate for which system types an action type is valid.

  6. Depending on the selected action, you have to enter more information.

To copy data from an action in another local rule, select btn_transfer_data.png.

Enter a description and enter or select further data.

  7. To save and activate the local rule, select Activate.png.

    note

You have to activate a local rule before you can activate a rule set that includes that local rule.

  8. To switch to display mode, select Switch to display mode.png.
