User reconciliation

Access through: Indirect usage > User reconciliation

The User reconciliation report compares selected data sources and shows which users exist on which of the selected data sources.

Description

This report helps you identify users that have accounts on several data sources by comparing two data pools. For the comparison, you select systems in pool A and pool B and an aggregation scheme for grouping users. The report groups the users from the different systems into aggregation groups and shows which user groups exist on which systems.

A typical use case for this report is to identify Indirect Usage by comparing an SAP system with an external system like, for example, a webshop. This way you can find out which users of the webshop already have an SAP license and do not need an extra license like, for example, SAP Platform User for accessing the SAP system.

The best practice for identifying Indirect Usage with the User reconciliation report is as follows:

  1. Connect the SAP system and the external system with Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software.

  2. Load the system data.

  3. Think of a sensible aggregation scheme for grouping users like, for example, email.

  4. Execute the report and identify users that only have an account on the external system.

  5. If necessary, procure additional SAP licenses.

Selection criteria

The selection screen of the report has standard selection criteria.

In Selection data sources, you can select the data sources for pool A and pool B.

You can execute this report in the background.

tip

To get a meaningful report result, you should select an aggregation scheme like, for example, aggregation by email.

Result

note

This report result description refers to a report execution with an aggregation scheme by user ID.

The report result shows an overview of the total numbers of aggregation groups in pool A and pool B and the number of aggregation groups that only exist in pool A and pool B.

A table lists the user groups on the data sources. Activated checkboxes in Pool A and Pool B columns show that a user exists in pool A or pool B. Activated checkboxes in Exclusive pool A or Exclusive pool B column show that a user exists only in pool A or pool B.
